Death:

January 22nd 1829 at Solderup, Hostrup Parish, Toender County -

Living places:

His whereabouts between confirmation 1798 in Gram Parish (Tiset) and the birth of their first child at Solderup could not even be sketched. The only matching name and age in the 1803 Census was found at Tinningsted, Karlum Parish, South Toender County (now German), where he - if identical - was recorded at a farmyard as servant (farm-hand) and soldier (to earn food and accomodation while available to the army). The concentration of Danish troops in Schleswig and Holstein increased in those years to maintain Danish "neutrality" during the "Napoleon wars", and Niels may very well have served for several years, though nothing regarding such service has been found, so far.  -

Occupation(s):

Mostly entitled tenant and hire-man, once (1824) as small-holder, which could mean just a small of piece of land temporarily added to his rented dwelling. -
